African girl with cell phoneAfter his return from TEDGlobal 2007 in Tanzania, the NY Times’ Jason Pontin writes his analysis of the ongoing debate on what the most important element of Africa’s future success is.

Africa needs both aid and technology. Aid should be developmental as well as emmergency, where needed. It is generosity no logic that can cause the world to help, not just in Africa, but globally.

Technology and education in Africa is urgent for growth and development
