Interesting comments. One,whether you're selling to your own or others, the process of customer and merchant is not different; being courteous, sell good products, fair pricing. The difference would be targeting specific demographics. These various determine how you sell to a market but selling to people are no different as far a just being ethical and nice. Granted, cultures differ in how things are done but there has to be a core especially if selling multiculturally,

It is important to identify unique products and services. There is a wealth of Africa products overseas, just too few controlled by Africans. The challenge is to identify markets and research just how best to achieve critical mass. Be aggressive and persevere because nothing comes easily. Do not be surprised that traditional foods and health products are some of greatest assets within reach. Interact with the Diaspora as much as possible, consider joint ventures. There is more collective African wealth within the US than all African countries combined.

Kwabena, I'm glad you found my suggestions helpful.

I think selling your product to your own is an excellent way to build a base and iron out the kinks in your business. But I think also within that business plan, you have to make allowances for growth fueled by foreign consumer interest. As they say, think global, act local.

Great site too.

Interesting post that gives some solutions on how to promote your product to a 'foreign' market. I guess most of us looking to sell produts initially focus on selling to our own without thinking about the bigger market.
Thanks for your insightful posts
